The program was a resounding success, prompting Mike to collaborate with others to expand its reach. This effort led to the founding of Provicta, an organization focused on establishing wellness programs within local police departments.

Provicta quickly gained traction, with participation exceeding 20 police departments. Seeing its potential for a broader impact, the organization was integrated with a regional healthcare conglomerate that aimed to scale the program to a larger audience. Before the integration, Provicta spun off a separate technology company, Code 4 Pro, tasked with creating a digital platform to understand, measure, and manage stress—the key component of PTSD and officer burnout.

What began as a wellness initiative for police officers evolved into a mission to develop cutting-edge technology to better understand, measure, and mitigate stress. Following Provicta’s integration, Code 4 Pro shifted its focus entirely to capturing and analyzing biometric data. By leveraging heart rate variability (HRV) analytics and artificial intelligence (AI), the company aimed to uncover deeper insights into stress management and develop solutions to mitigate its effects.

As part of its development phase, Code 4 Pro conducted a groundbreaking large-scale study involving 500 stress simulations with active-duty police officers. These simulations were designed to replicate high-stakes scenarios officers face daily, providing a robust dataset on stress responses. The study’s findings, peer-reviewed and published in a leading scientific journal, validated the platform’s ability to accurately measure and analyze stress using HRV metrics. The study not only strengthened Code 4 Pro’s scientific foundation but also positioned it as a leader in stress management innovation.
